ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION (ADR) AND ARBITRATION – Wsupplies, LDA.
1. Applicable Law
The website of Wsupplies, Lda. is governed by Portuguese legislation, namely:
- Law No. 67/98 – Personal Data Protection Act
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- All other applicable national legislation relating to consumer protection, e-commerce and data privacy
2. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
- In the event of a consumer dispute, the Customer may resort to a competent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Entity.
- Law No. 144/2015 of 8 September, which transposed Directive 2013/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, establishes the legal framework for the mechanisms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Portugal, creating the national Consumer Arbitration Network.
- ADR provides consumers and businesses with extrajudicial mechanisms to resolve disputes more quickly, with less bureaucracy and lower costs.
These mechanisms include: mediation, conciliation, and arbitration. - The process typically begins with an attempt to reach an agreement through mediation or conciliation. If no agreement is achieved, the parties may submit the dispute to a Consumer Arbitration Court, through a simple and efficient procedure.
- ADR entities are independent, impartial, and composed of qualified professionals who assist both parties in reaching an amicable settlement.
These entities must be included on the official list provided for in Article 17 of Law No. 144/2015, managed and published by the Portuguese Consumer Directorate-General (Direção-Geral do Consumidor).

5. Online Dispute Resolution (European Union)
Within the European Union, an online platform has been created to support consumers in submitting complaints relating to cross-border consumer disputes.
